This is the second time that I have called on Victoria and the wonderful team at McNaha Care to provide live-in care cover for my nonagenarian mother while our regular living carer was on an extended holiday.

From the attention to detail at the initial assessment I knew that my mother would be in good hands. And so it was.

The carer made sure that my mother was comfortable and well-fed, that medication was given on time, and that personal care was discreet and dignified. The carer also spent time talking with my mother, which they both enjoyed. As a bonus, the carer was a really good cook, so my mother ate very well and very healthily.

And when the bill came it was competitive and as quoted/agreed, so definitely good value for money.

All in all I am very happy with the service provided (and so is my mother), and I have no hesitation in recommending Victoria and the McNaha Care team wholeheartedly.

All her staff without exception were kind, gentle, supportive, practical and efficient. They would give advice when I needed it, but also let me do what I wanted and support me in my decisions when appropriate. Their visits always brought smiles and cheerfulness into the household. Thank you Pearl, Didi, Minnie, Tich, Manuel, Hannah, Grace, Rose, Nangela and Cathy, a team of wonderful people who started to care for my father in June 2023 and were with us all the way until October. Always respectful, always remembering the need for dignity during personal care. I can’t think of a single occasion when I was unhappy about anything.

Victoria herself was always gentle and calm, and has many years of experience within the NHS, meaning that she was invaluable in guiding me in how to deal with, and when to contact, the various other healthcare professionals: GP, palliative care team, district nurses, the whole package. Also firm with me when necessary, pushing me to ask for more help from the appropriate agencies than I would otherwise have done.

My father wished to stay at home until the end, and we were able to do what he wanted. We wouldn’t have been able to do so without Victoria’s help and support. Another huge plus – she was prepared to work alongside other carers not employed by her, which most agencies won’t do. And she never let us down.

I will forever be grateful.

When you love your mum as much as I do I thought it would be impossible to put my trust in anyone to take care of her. Victoria arrived in our lives in the midst of worry & heartache and on our first meeting it was obvious that she would care for mum with the respect and dignity she deserved & helped alleviate some of those worries.
